You are Aries, if you were born between March 21th and April 20th. Your element is fire and your planet Mars. Both are red, why I use many different red shades in my polymer clay interpretation. Aries are primarily self-confident, determined, brave, and resilient. Many of these people you will find in the politics as well as in leadership positions. Known Aries for example are Otto von Bismarck, Pontifex Benedikt 16., Helmut Kohl and Karl the Great. Due to the rumored character traits of these people my Aries have large, strong horns and powerful, fiery eyes. I’ll show you now, step by step, how I made my polymer clay jewelry Aries. Especially if you are zodiac Aries, I hope that you like my polymer clay interpretation of your zodiac sign. For the eyes cane I use five colors – red, yellow, white, orange, black. I roll out the colors with a thickness of 3 millimeters. I cut out small strips. The strips are 7 centimeters long and 3 millimeters wide. For the cane you need two black, eight orange, eight white, twelve yellow and four red strips. I put the pattern for the eyes cane. My first row is: 2x white, 2x yellow, 2x orange, 2x red. With the second row, the white stripes slipping one position. The second row is: 2x yellow, 2x white, 2x yellow, 2x orange. The third row is: 2x orange, 2x yellow, 2x white, 2x yellow. The fourth row is: 2x red, 2x orange, 2x yellow, 2x white. My pattern now looks like this. The white strips wandered diagonally from bottom left to top right. I press the black stripes on the cane. Respectively one of the black strip is attached to one of the red stripes. I press the cane flat. Important: The white strips must be stacked about each other. After reducing the cane looks like this. The cane now fits through the thickest stage of the clay machine. I roll out the cane at level 1. I cut the cane in six centimeter long pieces. I put the pieces on each other. I reduce the cane in triangular shape. After reducing the cane looks like this. I have the cane divided into two centimeter large pieces. The pieces I put around a black pupil. Then I reduce the eye cane. After reducing my eyes cane looks like this. For the body of the Aries I use six colors – ultramarine, red, yellow, white, orange and residuals. I roll out the colors with a thickness of 1,5 millimeters and the residuals with a thickness of 3,0 millimeters. I cut out the silhouette of the aries. The template for the aries silhouette can be found under the video. I reinforce the contours of the aries with residuals. I put a color gradient. The template can be found under the video. I fold the colors together and roll out the five colors at level 3. This step I repeat 20 times. The color gradient now look like this. I wrap the silhouette of the aries. My Aries now looks like this. I wrap the four hooves with red polymer clay. I cut off a thin slice of my finished eye cane. I put the thin slice as eye on my aries silhouette. For the mosaic effect I use table salt and metallic gold with a thickness of 0,5 millimeters. I prove two of the four feet with small metallic gold pieces. My Aries now looks like this. I have eternalized the aries symbol on the egde. I take salt and press it on the two ornamented feet. For the horn of my aries I use three colors – metallic gold, white and residuals. I roll out the colors with a thickness of 1,5 millimeters. The residuals I turn to an horn. I put a color gradient. I fold the colors together and roll out the two colors at level 5. This step I repeat 20 times. The color gradient now look like this. I wrap the horn with my color gradient. I place the finished horn over the eye of the Aries. I bake the aries 30 minutes at 110 degrees. After baking I bath the Aries so that the salt dissolves. The back of the Aries I disguise with black polymer clay with a thickness of 2,00 millimeters. The back now looks like this. I have used an eyelet that the Aries can be worn as a necklace. I bake the Aries again 30 minutes at 110 degrees. Finally I decorate the Aries with resin, which I distribute to the mosaic effect.
