Sacrificial Giving – VEDA Day 3 – Vlog Pastors

By | March 7, 2020

– It’s a bonus. That’s something I love about Joshua.
Man, we’re not just vlogging every day of April. He, levels up, son! Every stinking time.
Can’t just put it in a daily vlog. It’s gotta be something like that.
– This is gonna be a good one. [relaxing music] So Jarrod, I just want to get things started
right away and really answer the question that you asked me because I
think that by doing that it’s actually going to lend with everything else that
I want to talk to you guys about today. – What is the biggest nugget, the biggest
improvement in the back end of your work the investments into the internals of
Joshua. What resource are you using to level up your videos and level up your
online ministry. What’s the biggest factor on your back end that you could
share with the rest of us YouTubers? -Okay, so I got a thank you so much for the compliment on leveling up the quality. I do appreciate that it doesn’t go
unrecognized and I really just need to let you know though I don’t do that even
for me. The whole reason that I do that it’s really something that I’ve done all
for you guys. I want to try to bring more value every time I’m uploading a new
video. And I want to make sure that I’m giving you something of value in
exchange. So that’s really why I do this. And honestly at the heart of that is
where I would say that the biggest nugget that I have for leveling up
really comes from. And this is about leveling up in any area of your life.
Now, I didn’t connect all of these dots until I went down to Video Marketing
World and down there there were a lot of different speakers and YouTubers and
they were all about really just leveraging the power of video and using
it to market and to really promote but the thing that I heard that really just
hit me was from Nick Nimmin and he talked about how we need to be giving
value to people’s lives because they because you are giving your life to us
as creators. You are. The one commodity that we will never get back again is
time and you are giving us your time. And, so I thank you for that. And in exchange I want to make sure that I’m giving you more quality. So that’s what I do. I try
to just give, give, give, really I try to give until it hurts
and I see that as a Biblical model. I see giving until it hurts as exactly what
Jesus did. So that’s what I try to do is I just try to give more and give more
and give more and really think of myself last. Even when it comes to this weight
loss journey that I’ve been starting over the last two weeks which by the way,
guys look at this. How amazing is it? I woke up this morning went into the
bathroom took the camera don’t worry you’re not seeing any naughty bits or
anything but I went in there and look at what the scale says 214 pounds
I started off two weeks ago at 228.8 pounds What! That is 14 pounds in two weeks.
I’m losing a pound a day. And really my whole motivation
behind all of this is to serve God. And so I want to glorify God in my body and
I want to submit my body as a living sacrifice. I want to put it under
subjection and I want to make sure that it is healthy to do whatever it is that
He has called me to do. So, thats how I level up. It truly is. I’m constantly
evaluating everything that I put out there whether it be digitally or whether
it be physically and I’m asking myself a question “how can I give more value to
those who are receiving this?” And so, whatever it is that’s what I’m doing. I
do that with my sermons. I am constantly evaluating and thinking is there a way
for me to be more effective in my preaching to get the point across in a
better way. I do that in our marriage ministry as well even though I’ve seen a
lot of success with it and the principles that we apply I’m thinking
how could we better serve those who are coming to us. I’ve done it with bus
driving and actually I even kind of put myself out of a job in doing that
because I had asked our transportation director isn’t there a more effective
way of running this route where we could kind of consolidate it?
Which then gets me asking you guys a little bit of a question because we’re
talking about leveling up I’m wondering how is it that you can level up with
whatever it is that you’re doing? So what is that one thing that you guys can do
to really level up whatever it is that you do? Let me know down in the comment
section below because I would love to hear about that. Alright now, Jarrod I do
have one more question that I want to ask you and it’s about this “Heart of
Many Colors” thing that you got going on. What is that all about? Did I hear Jake
say that you are gonna be like wandering around in the desert or something? Are
you guys trying to reenact the exodus movement? So that’s my question for you.
What is it? what are you doing? Tell us about it. I want to know a little bit
more. I know you shared a little bit about it but you do realize we got a lot
of new subscribers this month and they might want to hear it as well.
Now there you go that’s all I got for you guys today and did you guys notice
that something was missing from yesterday’s vlog? I didn’t realize it
until I put it up. I guess that’s what I get for editing late at night. All I want
you guys to do is just stay blessed and enjoy God’s best You, you what is wrong with you? Why do
you always keep making noise when I’m trying to record? Why are you barking? And
when I yell from the… hey look at me when I’m talking to you.
Okay, so this Bible journaling method that I kind of adapted from Jason
Mayfield is pretty awesome. I’m enjoying it so far. I know it’s new but yeah it’s
pretty good.
